Heart of a Stranger: An Unlikely Rabbi’s Story of Faith, Identity, and Belonging by Angela Buchdal is a moving account of the spiritual journey of the first Asian American to be ordained as a rabbi. Born in Seoul, the daughter of a Korean Buddhist mother and Jewish American father, Buchdal now serves as rabbi to one of the largest and most influential congregations in the world. Members of Congregation Kol HaNeshama’s monthly book club, “Books and Bagels,” will discuss this work in person at a congregant’s home.
