In this 5-session class, taught by KH’s Herb Levine, you will discover two different writers (or schools of writers) responsible for the Book of Leviticus, as it has come down to us. When and where did they live and write? What different visions of holiness and the sacred did they hold? What was their relationship to each other? This class is intended for those who are willing to prepare the assigned material before class, either alone or with a regular study partner. The preferred text for preparation is the Jewish Study Bible (Oxford Univ. Press), which can be ordered wherever books are sold.
Please register here. Zoom link and additional information will be sent to you later.
Classes will be held on Zoom, November 3, 10, 17, 24 and Dec. 1, – 9:30 – 11 am.

Is meditation, or prayer, a means to an end, or an end in itself?
In this contemplative session, Rabbi Sigal will explore the purpose and nature of these practices. Are they tools we use to achieve something, or are they complete experiences that hold value simply in being practiced? Through group reflection and guided meditation, we will consider how intention shapes the way we experience both prayer and meditation.
This session offers a space to deepen your understanding and practice. All are welcome. No meditation experience is necessary. In-person downtown Sarasota. Space is limited.
We gather on Shabbat morning to pray and learn together. Services include singing, praying, Torah study, Torah reading and meeting friends. We look forward to seeing you.
Rosh Chodesh (the new moon of every month of the Jewish calendar) has been celebrated as Jewish womens’ special time for centuries.
KH’s Rosh Chodesh gatherings are an opportunity to make new friends and keep up relationships among the women of our community. Each meeting consists of a short service, followed by a presentation and/or discussion on a topic selected by the group, and time for shmoozing.
Please join us on the third Tuesday of each month, 2:00 PM.
