Dr. Herb Levine is a life-long student of the Bible as literature. He has taught adult courses on the subject for over forty years. He was trained in literary studies at Harvard and Princeton and has published scholarly works on Psalms, Whitman and Yeats.
Learn the basics and grow more comfortable engaging with other Hebrew speakers as we practice speaking about such topics as: greeting others, making introductions, getting around, eating, numbers and time, common expressions, and much, much more!
Dr. Ari DeLevie is a Sabra, born in Haifa. Hebrew and German are his native languages. A retired clinical psychologist, with a doctoral degree from Columbia University. He has published short stories and three books.

Classes meet for four sessions to explore the history, traditions, meaning, and modern interpretations of the Mourner’s Kaddish. Rabbi Melissa will guide participants in learning about the meaning of the words and share interpretive poetry and liturgy from Rabbi Levi Yitzhaq of Berditchev to Marge Piercy.
Rabbi Melissa Starr Wenig has been a teacher for many years. She authored ‘In the River of Grief and Release.’ She was ordained as a rabbi by the ALEPH Rabbinic Seminary.
